Keeping Safe Online

This is a broad topic, and someone could easily spend pages and pages going over this. I recently know of two people who were victims of scams or had their accounts hacked. Believe it or not though, this post will be short and simple.

Use a good antivirus and only visit trusted sites. In addition, don’t use simple passwords and utilize MFA where possible. Finally, use zero trust in your online interactions. What do I mean by this? Unsure of an email? Don’t trust it. Strange text message? Don’t trust it. Microsoft calling to provide unsolicited computer help? Don’t trust it. These things seem simple and common sense, but it is simple to slip up. Obviously there is much more to this topic, but in my opinion following these three things provides an excellent baseline for defense.

Stay safe out there!
